A quick look at My Waterway@Punggol

In recent months, Punggol was one of the talk points in Sngapore.  Particularly those who are currently staying in the north-east (sengkang, punggol area) and those who wish to stay in the north-east, (both private condo and hdb flat).  My Waterway@Punggol is one of the key selling points.  Look at A Treasure Trove private condo, sold 80% on the phase 1 launch. and many HDB launches around waterway area.  2 key launches, the Waterway Terraces I and Waterway Terraces II.

Anyway, I understand that the opening will be on the 23rd October and in order to have a quick view (eager lah!), I cycled there and took a few pictures of the 90% ready Waterway @ Punggol.

The first section of the waterway to be ready.

A bridge, not too sure what is the name!

The path on the left is undulating, maybe to let kids practice cycling on undulating ground.

A caveman shelter or Singapore Zoo Lion Den, I personally do NOT like this design.

The far bank view of the Lion Den

My Dahon on a bridge

Punggol HDB flat.  I like the image in the water.  Look real nice and this is taken from a Samsung Galaxy S.

Waterplant by the riverbank.  Well thought of.

Anyway, before the opening, the path is rather sandy or with little pebble.  While riding the path, I was worried about my tyre puncture, fortunately, nothing happen.  Probably next time ride the mountain bike instead of my Dahon folding bike.

Here is a video for your viewing as well. Hope it turn up well. A little shaky (actually, quite shaky!) Not easy to hold still and ride a bike.
Ok, that is for this post.  I will try to take more pictures next time after the openning.

Park @ Punggol

Remember the Restaurants @ Punggol that I mentioned a week back? I re-visited the place in the morning. This time, I cycled there.

morning View of the @Punggol

Once you get onto the Park Connector, behind the restaurant. Travel to the north end of the park connector, you will notice a bridge that can link you the Lorong Halus Wetland (yet to be opened)

The brown-red metal bridge.

The resting desk with benches for resting after a vigorous jog or fast walk.
Notice that the desk are staying "afloat".

Take a look at the man-made lallang. I have not actually see them in the night but I believe this will glow (LED) in the night for the effect. I will check out some other time.

Make a guess what this structure for? Just decoration?

New Restaurant Place @ Punggol

Next to the Un-opened SengKang-Pungol Park connector, there is a restaurant place that called by the name of @Punggol. It is located just beside the Chinese Temple along Punggol East Road. Nearest LRT is Riviera Station.

It is a nice place and currently there are 3 restaurants open (another one is currently under renovation). There are Popeyes Chicken, a Chinese Seafood restaurant and a Bristol and Bar. There just beside the park connector along the Serangoon River (if I get it correctly). Enjoy the dinner and the nice view. There are about 50 parking lots and it is current free parking. You could park along the road side of the small road as well.

Well, if you have time, make a trip there. Nice ambience and Scenery. Air is fresh too.

SengKang and Puggol Park Connector

Last year December, I showed some pictures of the SengKang and Punggol Park Connector along the Sungei Serangoon. This Saturday, I re-visited the place and took some pictures again. The same section had been completed but construction is still going on to beautify the place. It is still closed to public. I wish that this connector be open ASAP allowing Sengkang and Punggol residents have another nice track for jogging, strolling as well as cycling.
